Saddlebag Top Rails
Heres a tip you all might use in the future:
When I installed my OEM top rails, I put "double stick tape" in the area where the holes would be, and used the metal washers supplied with the kit, stuck them between the tape and the rail, once I had properly located the back two points, removed the rail and "Drilled thru the washer" the Back two were now perfectly lined up. Installed the back two screws , only hand tight, and then put the washer between the tape and the front mount. marked the washer, removed the rail and then drilled the front hole "thru the center of the washer. Remember , the double stick tape keeps the washers stuck to the top surface of the bags and helps you center the rails before drilling. When I removed the tape, and installed the top rails, all holes lined up perfectly the first time. This worked for me... But I must admit, it seemed like I measured it 50 times, before I drilled even the first hole. I thought I'd pass this along.. might make the job easier... John :) Login or Register to Remove Ads |
