Benefit Ride for Crissa Cichon - 7/20/13 Loretto, MN

Hi All,

I just wanted to throw this out there, in the hope that some from the NorthCentral region can attend. It would be great to be able to give this family a rousing show of support at a time when it is needed most.

When: Saturday, July 20, 2013

Where: Local 55 Bar and Grill – Loretto, MN

Check it out on Facebook: Benefit Ride for Crissa Cichon

Crissa Cichon is a 32 year old loving mother of 4 children; Belle, 12; Grace, 10; Abbie Rose, 8; and Charlie, 5. She is married to her wonderful husband Shannon Cichon. They both grew up in Rockford, MN and are currently living in Buffalo, MN.

In January 2010 Crissa felt numbness in her hands and face; she was first misdiagnosed and was told she had a central nervous system disease called vasculitis. Lots of test and 4 rounds of chemo to find out Crissa had Moyamoya.

Moyamoya is a disease in which certain arteries in the brain are constricted. Blood flow is blocked by the constriction, and also by blood clots which causes strokes. She found a doctor who said he could help her with just a 2 inch incision. She ended up with half of her skull removed and the surgery did not work.

Crissa has had 10 plastic surgeries to repair her head once it was healed. She then traveled to California to see a specialist for Moyamoya and another failed attempt. Her last attempt was the Mayo Clinic where she was told there is nothing more they can do and it is terminal. She has had several strokes and is told that she will most likely not survive the next one. She is now in hospice care and needs constant care. Crissa is the director of Rockford Rock-a-bye Learning Center, and due to the illness, has not been able to work for some time. Shannon has had to take time off of his job to help care for his wife and their 4 kids. They owe over $800,000 in medical bills and are supported by only Shannon’s income.

Please join us in supporting this wonderful family in their time of need.
We will start the motorcycle run at 11 a.m. on July 20th. If you do not ride, don’t worry; we will also have a party bus to follow the route!

The ride will be 140 miles, and we will be making 3 stops along the way.

Donations: There will be a $20 per rider/$15 per passenger registration which includes evening meal and entertainment. The registration fee will also get you a wristband for drink specials.

-Registration begins at 10am
-Kickstands up at 11am
-Ride will end at around 5pm, and the dinner/entertainment/silent auction begins

For those not going on the ride but will be coming for the benefit dinner; the dinner will start at 4pm followed by silent auction and entertainment. The fee for attendees of the dinner only is $10 adults/$5 kids.

Anyone who would like to donate items for the silent auction, please email kellapelt@yahoo.com

Screaming Banshee steps up!

Just a little update on the Benefit Ride for Crissa;

I wanted to express my sincerest thanks to Greg, Peter & Ben at Screaming Banshee. I had originally intended to order several of their full banshee units as some friends and I were interested in getting them. Turns out only two of us stepped up and ordered two units.

I asked Greg if there was anything he may be able to contribute to the benefit; and he and his partner, Peter, agreed to give us (1) full banshee horn system & an "I'm a screamer" t-shirt as a donation for our benefit auction with our purchase of the two banshee horn systems.

Not only that, but they also are having their IT person, Ben, design us a custom Screaming Banshee link icon that mentions the benefit ride for us to use on our facebook page and twitter accounts. Ben has also incorporated the benefit flyer into their latest monthly newsletter.

We couldn't have asked for more from the folks at screaming banshee. These guys have really stepped up to the plate!

Hopefully it's not against forum rules to post a link to their site, (mods, if you want me to delete, I kindly will)
http://screaming-banshee.com/?acc=d3...5d38e6d163e820

The link will take you to the screaming banshee products page. If you order, you get a 10% discount, and 20% of the proceeds will go toward the benefit.

Update for those who might be attending the Benefit Ride for Crissa Cichon on July 20th. We have had a location change. The ride now is starting and ending at Buffalo Bar & Grill in Buffalo, MN instead. It's a long story of how this came about, but basically, the original location just up and closed it's doors. Even up to the last day, they told us that everything was still good...yada yada. It came as quite a surprise to say the least.

However, it's all about the journey, and we have landed at a new home base (Buffalo Bar & Grill) and they are more than happy to have us. Buffalo is approximately 10 miles further west of Loretto, and is basically along the original route we were going to take anyway.

We hope to see you there, lots of great items for auction and silent auction. Both for your motorcycle and for the family!
