Well, hey, if you got a grist mill and a brewery in the mix, it's gotta be good! ;)

Greg sent me some maps of the area and I think we should take a weekend and scout out where we think we should go. Less chance of bad experiences that way. Maybe we can do this before winter sets in??

We'll do it! Probably start at the end of the area along the river and work our way north or south on each side of the Mississippi river if we have enough riders. We can explore some side roads to make it interesting. I'd like to make this rally a point to point ride with about 250 to 300 miles between motels. Also would like to stop at places of interest and historical significance.

Keep in mind that we are only putting ideas out right now and nothing is concrete yet. But lets seriously consider making a scouting trip sometime in September.

I'm not in the NCR, but have lived in almost all those states (MN, WI, MI, IL). You guys should look at the Galena, Illinois area. Very pretty, near the Mississippi river, a lot of ridges and valleys, little twistie roads and beautiful countryside. About the prettiest part of Illinois IMO, and that Tri - State area (Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois).

Galena itself is a great little town for your rendezvous site, very pretty and I remember they had a lot of nice little establishments with a LARGE selection of beers!

Just a thought for you guys.

Thanks, Bull! We had started a ride from Galena, IL once before. I was actually thinking of starting our next regional there and heading south. It is a great place to ride.

Maybe you can come ride with us! Would be glad to have you!

I just might. I didn't get to meet you at the Rally, saw your bike though with the scuff marks. Were you with the guy with the trailer that flipped?

I think I may have talked to your wife, she was with, correct?

We didn't have the trailer on that rally. I dropped the bike on a sharp corner where the dragon lives. This Iowa guy was not used to those kind of turns in a road.

Yeah Bisquit, I know it wasn't you with the trailer, but I saw a banged up trailer the same day as I saw your bike, I thought someone around me said the trailer owner was with you on the Dragon and went down too?

I wasn't aware of any trailer crashes, Bull. I was just sad and embarrased about my own crash. Still don't have it back from the dealer yet. I think they are more interested in selling 4-wheelers than fixing my bike.
