Being as that's the first time I've heard her sing the National Anthem, I was amazed at how she had a voice and range that could do justice to the extremely hard song to sing.
I did like the children's version as well. I've never been a fan of Houston's, being that I was in my truck 10-12 hours doing my deliveries every day. The radio stations loved playing her hit songs. As a result I found her voice made me upset to hear it, and I would turn to another station or shut the radio off for a while. Now if she had been singing 'when she was just seventeen' I probably would have joined in singing with her. Just saying
