tire balance

What's your opionions on balancing a new tire when you have it mounted....I've never seen them put more than a very little weight on them......Is it worth it, or should I keep my 12 bucks they charge for that part of the mounting, and skip the balance... thanks ronnie

tire balance

Personally, for what a tire costs, balancing is cheap insurance. Besides, I got mine mounted and balanced for free.

I balance my tires when I install new ones, more for peace of mind in knowing everything is ok, you can install a couple ounces of Dyna Beads yourself that will balance the tires as well.

Dyna Beads like Ringadingh says. I use them in the tires on my Nomad. 1 oz in each tire. Reusable. Works great.

Ronnie I change and ballance my own tires but I have seen and felt the affects of an unbalanced tire. I balance the tire to get it as close as possible if it takes me an hour or more. You will get much longer tire life and have a much better ride with balanced tires. Would you drive your car with unbalanced tires? Don't cheat yourself out of a good ride by being cheap.
