What's the Velcro Strap for Behind Left Side Cover
Mine holds stuff. Thanks to this thread, its first time I've confirmed that I don't have the Cali model.

I am kinda surprized no one got it right yet.... ::)

Clearly this is Ma Kawii's idea of one BDSM strap, and the rest should be supplied by you!

What's the Velcro Strap for Behind Left Side Cover
Funny, mine had a second Kawasaki tool kit in it. I just use it for holding pneumatic cartridges for tire repair now.

What's the Velcro Strap for Behind Left Side Cover
Not sure if you all are just having a grin or two here or not, but my 2004 had a tool kit rolled up and secured by the strap. Is that something that no longer comes with the bike?

tool kit is normally in the little compartment below the strap that has to be pulled open......at least on the 1600's.

On my 2008 Nomad under the left side cover, there is a rectangular plastic toolbox with a door. It occupies the lower half of the area behind the side cover and my toolkit is in there. Right above it, there is a large empty area with a 1" wide Velcro strap just hanging there.

My manual shows something strapped there in the illustration, but it is not identified. Sounds like it is probably for a California emissions canister.

There is enough room above the toolbox to use the strap to stow another toolkit, tire repair kit, or a container of spare parts like spark plugs, fuses, light bulbs.
