Beautiful area for a rally

I have been in the area around Rochester when our daughter went to college there. Didn't have my bike and wished I did to do some riding in the area.

My first impressions of the New England States was all the greenery and trees. Being a native Southern Californian born and raised I had never seen such awesome sights.

Sounds like a winner to me. My youngest son lives in NY city and I could get him to meet up with me somewhere upstate.

1750 miles pounding interstate. Most likely 4 days each way. Looked at the non-interstate route and do they build any roads longer than 20 miles out east??? Drive 2 miles, turn, drive 5 miles turn, drive 0.5 miles, turn.......

I hate it when I'm always right! Brahahahaha. Any further west you'd be in California. I think most if us old timers are done with the National.

Here we go, did any one hear me complain when I had to ride to Colorado from NY, NO
If you guys can't handle the trip then you can't handle the trip.
We can't always have a National in your back yard.

Not complaining about the location Tim. I was looking at it about how much time it would take to get there. Unfortunately not all of us are retired. The summer is where I make my data for the rest of the year and years and taking more than a Saturday to next Sunday is difficult. That would be 9 days and 8 would be traveling to get there. I don't have a full time technician to take the duties for me.

I would love to ride that area but alas it will have to wait until I'm in Tim mode (retired) in about 12 or 13 years.

2300 miles one way for me, that's about 5 days just to get there, 10 days to make the round trip plus the rally time. I don't have that kind of free time. As much as I would like to visit that part of the country, I don't think I can make it happen.

Tim I've yet to ride under 1500 miles to a National. Estes Park wasn't in my back yard either. Yet you still think it's "out west". With New York, the "average" National has been 2000+ miles for me. Have fun

Looks similar to the trip my wife is taking this summer for an organization. Her loop will be 6,500 miles before it is done. She broke out laughing when I told her I may be taking the same trip. Unlike the other guys I'm retired, if I stay out for a few days, weeks, or whatever it is easier. Only thing I have to watch is my costs. The Maggie Valley trip wasn't bad at all a little over 7,000 miles by the time I was finished, went up the Blue Ridge Parkway afterwards hung a left and came back the northern route. Of course I was out for a couple of months sightseeing but I have the time. Wherever the National is held I'll explore the options and see what happens.

NY huh? Screw that, anything East of the Mississippi is out of the question for me. I moved west for a reason. To get away from all the assholes in the east ( Vulcan Members excluded) Well, maybe not all members....
