Update taken from Facebook: "This is a picture of the accident a good friend of mine was in. The car veered in front of him and he is in critical condition at mercy hospital. They did surgery last night till 1 this morning and are prepping to do more tomorrow. Broken ribs, many vertebrae in his back, internal bleeding. Please keep like an uncle to me Don Myers in your prayers!!" -Carl Pederson

Update taken from Facebook: "He has to have back surgery. He has lots of fractures in his neck and back. But a complete break in the back between the shoulders that could pinch or break the spinal cord . Can't do the surgery until blood pressure become stable and the other trauma doctors says it's OK."

Thanks guys for the updates. As you can see he was on his Triumph Tiger that he had just got maybe in last 6month or so. He had just put those bags on after he had fabricated the mounts for it. Pray he comes out of this ok.

This sure sucks, never met Don in person, but my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Hoping for a speedy and full recovery Don.

I have been thinking about Don and this accident. I was concerned about his injuries but one of the thoughts I had was about his head since he didn't like to wear a helmet. The more I thought about it I realized Missouri is a helmet state so he must have had his helmet on. With the injuries that he sustained I am going to assume the helmet probably saved his life even though I know he is not out of danger completely yet. Thank God for the helmet law in Missouri on this particular case
