Some of the Sam Adams stuff isn't bad. I find local breweries that have pubs/restaurants can make decent stuff. We have Four Peaks Brewery down here and you'd like Kilt Lifter. It's over 6% IIRC. I've seen some IPAs that were 8%. I don't like IPAs.

I'm a little more hesitant to drink the illegal spirits these days because of a co-worker that nearly died from it a few years ago. Every once in a while, when I can stand a ear scorching, brutal ass cussing from "She Who Must Be Obeyed", I'll hook up with my insane hillbilly neighbors down the road and pitch a moonshine free for all. Oh, I like Red Wine with food and winding down at the end of the day.
Beer or Red Wine with seafood.
Beer, whiskey, or LEGAL moonshine for socializing.

I've never been known to turn down any alcohol.

If you over 50 or close to it, drank one thang at a time!
Don't drank beer, then scotch, then bourbon, then tequila, then rum, then whiskey! The next morning you'll wake up feeling like you been licking a antifreeze, gasoline, oil spot in the parking lot all night.
