Stock ones on 05-08 are chrome. 09 1700's are black. I painted the passenger board covers, the air cleaner housings, and the chrome fillers between the bags and fender. I did that because I vinyl wrapped the tank bezel to cut out the glare and liked the lack of chrome, just like quite a few others seem to.

I tried to vinyl wrap my bezel but it didn't turn out so well so I just painted it flat black

Yeah, I blacked my speedo cowl out early on. The desert sun reflecting up in my eyes was just too much to endure.
In my neck of the woods $7200 for an '08 wit less than 2k miles is about right. A bit high but not to much. Talk him down to about $6500ish and your right on target.

Really, maybe I should bring mine down there. I paid 11 something for my 08 brand new. I believe Kawa was moving them out before launching the 09.
