Voyager drivers backrest

Just passing this along. I have a Kawasaki drivers backrest on my Voyager. When I installed it I took the spring out of the hinge. Now I just flip it down to get on or off. My backrest for my 1500 was that way, much easier to get on and off now.

Saccariker. Do you take the backrest off for the passenger to get on then replace it when the passenger is seated ?

I have the Kaw backrest on my Nomad. Very comfortable for me but leaves little room for the bride on the passenger seat. I have to take it off when she rides & don't understand why Kaw didn't make it easily removable, especially for what they charge for the thing. Gonna see a welder friend of mine to see about moding to make it removable like a grasshopper or a Mustang driver backrest. I wouldn't buy the Kaw again, I'd go aftermarket if your passenger is larger than a small child!

Rejay, I have the same backrest and can leave it on when the girlfriend gets on. She has no trouble at all.
