If Kawasaki had just took the V2K and put the fairing/stereo/cruise/ bags duals / trunk and other goodies it would have made a much better than the new 1700 models did not need to reinvent the wheel just add some goodies to it

I love my VN2K, but the transmissions are notoriously weak. The engine is great, tons of torque (I never think "I wish I had more power") but the transmission doesn't hold up very well. I had to have mine completely rebuilt (my butt still hurts from the pounding I took).

To the OP: that's a great looking bike. I am working on mine this year. Are those the Corbin bags? I love the way they look.

What fairing is that? It looks like the Corbin as well.

Anyways, great job on the 2k - that's a great bike to represent what Ma Kaw missed out on.

The bags, fairing, trunk, MP3 system, and seat are Corbin. Corbin used my bike to build the prototypes for their wares. I'm not much for the trunks or stereo stuff. Even the Dual Tour seat sits in the attic with the other stuff.

Thanks, it does squeal when the belt alignment isn't dead on. The earlier models (2004 & 2005) had a spacing issue with the rear wheel and about the only way to stop the belt squeal was to buy aftermarket shims. Kawasaki seemed to address that problem from 2006 on.

You should try to make the Tahoe rally.
