SE Rally You have to see this

Today we went ot the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Green Bank WV.
Check out these pics, the radio telescope to the very top is 480 feet high.
The dish it self is about 100 yards wide and 400 feet in the air

WE actually got to walk out on the dish

You see that tiny dot on the edge of the dish in pic 3, that is Kawhead looking over the edge 400 feet up.
Yup he is crazy

One question does eat away at me....was kawhead able to "phone home" ... ?

Great pics! I hate that I wasnt there. Looks like ya'll had a great time. I hope no one was planning on having kids any time soon!

I cant imagine what kind of beams were shot up into you all!

I'm not sure if they let you walk on the dishes at the Very Large Array in New Mexico.

Wow. Now that's something. I went to Aricebo in Puerto Rico but they didn't let us go out on the dish.

Dishes receive signals not send them out, however just to be safe Tim lined his jocky shorts with tin foil!
