The fairing appears to be a little... "pug-nosed"...

I think it's cool as Hell and at a price point that put's it within reach of many riders. Way to go Polaris!

It's price point is not in-line with other bikes in its class when you directly compare every feature that comes on bikes at $22k.

Remember... $22k is the stipped-down bare essentials version of their Chieftain...

That price doesn't even include the front crash bars... You pay extra for those... and many other features that are stock on other bikes.

The bike is over-priced in my opinion and I believe once the newness wears off... they are going to realize it... We'll see.

The motor seems really nice though.

Meant to type "pug-nosed"... but you got my point. The fairing looks goofy and awkward... but then again... it is a Polaris.

I am going to have see them in person to decide. I do suspect there is some smoke and mirrors in play when it comes to pricing which others have alluded to.

That's good to know...

I went on line to their site the morning after the announcement... and it did not even list ABS for the brakes, of which I later found were included.

At that time, crash bars were listed as a several hundred dollar add-on... along with a bunch of other things... my final price ended-up around $26k

So... what you say, apparently they have now included these things... that makes for a much more realistic price.

I am going online to check it out...

Thanks...

EDIT: I went to this link:http://www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-u...9-2c05dc8d41e2

On here, the picture does not show the crash bars (highway bars)... but rather they are shown as a $399 add-on.

Maybe their site is screwed up... but what I saw originally is still the same. Who knows...

The full spec sheet can be found here.

http://www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-u...torcycle/specs

Part of which I copied earlier. The other models do not have the options or the price of the chieftain. I think they just listed every available option there so the other models could be dressed out.

You are more than likely correct... but it still initially confusing.

Thanks! I take back all (no... just half) of my rants...

The motor seems really nice though.
Do you take the 111ci motor into consideration in your comparison? As far as I know, this is the largest displacement in the regular line-up of all mainstream v-twins.
