My First real modification/upgrade

I decided I wanted to add a trunk to the bike one I can remove with ease and put the sissy bar back in place. So I found this cheap supposedly universal trunk that measures 22x16x11
There are two tyes gloss black and gloss white. I ordered the gloss white as it would make painting it much easier.
I order an amp and automotive speaker to install in the trunk, which I have yet to do. After a weekend of sanding, priming, and painting I spent about 45 minutes installing. I had to make my own custom holes in the trunk to fit my luggage rack and the brackets that came with the trunk were completely useless to me. This trunk looks not too bad adds some extra storage. Although keep in mind if I did not have the luggage rack there was no way I was installing it without having to fabricate some custom brackets. All in with paint materials the trunk itself it cost me about $160

Stereo system I plan to install

Here is the system I plan to install. Already tested it out and it sounds great. Out of the box it plays MP3's via thumb stick through the USB and has FM radio built in, It cost me a total of $19cdn. The Amp is RMS 26x2 with a peak of 250 each. The speakers are 125 RMS each with a peak of 300 each. The speakers ran me $40Cdn
I just have to figure out high I am going to mount them in the trunk as they somewhat bigger then I thought. I might have to cut and modify the trunk to fit them.

Bike looks real good, why ruin it with those ugly ass speakers?
Just my opinion but I would lose the skulls.

Don't sugar coat it Tim, Tell him what you really mean.

I don't like the Mutazu trunks, but it looks nice painted to match the bike.

Something just doesn't look right to me. Does that Gray really match? Looks like a different shade. Also don't like the Mutazu trunks, cheaply made. Hope you like it though......

While I rarely agree with Tim (I think we've agreed twice), I have to agree this time. Speakers are one thing. Those skulls are hideous. The trunk looks good, though.

Nice job. Looks good. P.S. Don't pay too much attention to the critics, it's your bike, not theirs.

I think you did a very nice job, and the thing is YOU DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!, and that's another thing to be proud of. Although skulls are not my thing, I agree with BOB, "it's your bike, not theirs. "

Sure it is his bike but if he wants it to look nice he should take the criticism for what it is, constructive.
The sculls will ruin the look of a perfectly nice looking bike.

Here you go again your going to chase the new guy off. If you cant post something nice maybe you shouldn't post anything. Looks great and if you like skulls then go for it. Don't worry about some of these guys, they harass everyone. I would like to know what you used for spacers to mount the rack back on after you took off the back rest.

Summerside, I also have the same trunk mounted in my bike. I, too, did all the work. However, I went to AutoZone and purchased a piece of truck liner and lined the inside using 3M spray glue. It has been on the bike for nearly 2 years and I have had NO problems with it. The wife loves the added comfort from the wrap around backrest. I think it looks good, you did a good job.
