Crescent City Weather Forecast

Checking the long-range forecast for Crescent City might bring some big surprises. High temps are ranging from the high 50's to low 60's! Although sunny for the most part...there are some drippy days showing just prior to our visit.

This does not surprise me as temps here in the NW are 10-15 degrees below normal for this time of year and apparently they must be down there as well. Come prepared for cooler weather than you might expect for northern Cal in August, but it is the coast afterall, so the marine layer can be pretty thick. Fog is another area of concern. While many summer days are clear from the start in CC, there are those days when you arise to thick fog and it is only later in the day that things clear off.

While I'm expecting a great time to be had by all, the overall weather may or may not present us with some challenges. Keeping a good attitude will go a long ways toward enjoying the rally, regardless of the circumstances. Let's all cross our fingers and hope for sunny days to come!

Weird weather for sure Kris. I've been up there during this time of year and the weather was balmy and nice. CJ and I have to travel up the San Juaquine Valley where the weather will be above 90 most of the way...

It looks like I'll chance the weather and wear my Tourmaster mesh armor jacket and wear a long sleeve shirt underneath if need be up north. Can't see me packing additional leathers. I'm riding double... so space is at a premium..

It's been over 100° every day since mid-May, and this time of year it's already in the 90's when I leave for work in the morning at 06:15.

I am ready for anything, because anything else is an improvement!

Kris,

I know where some of your 10-15 degrees has gone. We have been in the 5-10 above average for some time. It gets worse going south and east from here. Pack along a sweat shirt and a couple of long sleeve shirts while we are there and should be good to go.

Well, that would be worse I suppose. I mean rain and fog and cool is an improvement over nasty heat and humidity.

It's official....this is the coldest summer in the NW since 1957. Our warmest day has been 84F. It's been 54 years since we went this long without reaching 85F..... :-[. We had a cold, wet Spring, and now we are getting gypped out of our summer too. Global warming my a$$.......... ::).

Well, the glass is half full! Cooler temps mean no hot seats which directly translates to a lot less 'monkey butt' for those long rides! ;)

Same way I see it. Mesh and long sleeves works for me. A water proof liner if necessary.

As it is the long range forecast looks pretty good once if we leave Las Vegas early we will not see any 100 degree weather until we come back home across the Mojave desert in CA. ; :)

I've got 300 miles of desert from Phoenix to Palm Springs. The Coachella Valley is below sea level and can be hotter than Phoenix. I plan to be through there by noon. The ride back home will be worse.

I was thinking that colder weather is whiskey and Tequila drinking after the rides.

I welcome the 60 degree days...with sun. I will pack an extra large but light rain jacket to go over my mesh jacket just in case.
