Ididn't know that the HD's still had them, I would have guessed they were discontinued by now.

Willie G loved the movie Convoy and the show Movin On. He just loves that CB.

One of the things that I like about the Nomad is that it doesn't come stock with a radio. I get the safety point for the road captain/sweep communications. Other than that I don't think I'd use it even if I had one. In a group meeting before the ride its customary to agree on hand signals. In a large group, hand signals can get to the whole group quickly without waiting for a "break" in the radio chatter.

Yeah, at the National sometimes the hand signal didn't make it all the way to the rear and other times the hand signal that made it that far was not the original signal.
So I guess there is downsides to both.

I don't know that radio communications is practical in a large group. Certainly for the leader and tailgunner it is, but people riding in formation have enough to worry about besides radio chatter. But for a small group of riders, the ability to chat could be very beneficial.

And that is why groups should be broken up into smaller groups. I think once you get past 15 -20 bikes at most, it can become unmanageable and dangerous.
