I'm wondering how many of you will have a CB on this trip? Kris wants me to lead the Redwoods rally and I'm wondering if I should have mine hooked up or not? Any thoughts on that?

My wife and I both have CB's on our bikes. They are the J&M JMCB2003 models and seem to work well. We especially like the fact that you can plug an IPod or MP3 into it. We have XM radios on ours.

If you have a ride group leader with a CB, it's good for your chase rider to have one, too.

I don't have one. If it is required I am thinking the Community Organizer (Kris) should buy and install them for ride leaders and tailgunners. Shall we vote on it?

I will be on the wing there and have CB on it. I think that if you are in a group of a dozen or more some way to comunciate front to back is almost a requirement for saftey reasons if nothing else. Again, that is MY OPINION and not some law!

This may be a dumb question but I am good at asking dumb questions.
when you guys use CB's do you have to use headsets plugged into them. You know, wires running from the CB to your helmet.
Also if you have a hand held unit mounted to your handlebars, do you have to reach up and push a button to talk or can it be set for voice activated?
