Cruise Control Issue

I have an 11 Vaquero and my cruise control will not set all of a sudden. The orange light comes on when you turn cruise on, but the set function stopped working. Any wisdom anyone can share please.

Chances are the rear brake switch needs adjusting.

Use the on-board diagnostics.
Kickstand down, transmission in 1st gear, press and hold the S button, turn the key ON. CHEC will be displayed along with a flashing number, 1 is throttle switch, 2 is front brake switch, 3 is rear brake, 4 is clutch, 5 is gear position switch, 6 is cruise set switch, 7 is cruise resume switch.
If no number is flashing then operate each function to display each number.

Correct, in 99% the switch at the foot brake need to be adjusted OR dirt/small stone is pinched, is the reason why cruise is not engaging.

I had Issues with my cruise when I bought the bike turned out the be the adjustment nut on the micro switch was not adjusted right a little tweaking and now works great. I also had to do an adjustment when I installed the new extended brake peddle.

I went through this with my Voyager. The cruise control stubbornly refused to work for me but would work for Marv at the shop. It was finally determined that there was a intermittent problem with the switch in the clutch lever. Once that was replaced everything seemed to get back to normal. This switches are very, very sensitive from what I was told.

Realizing that your issue started all of a sudden, so not an answer to your issue. This is an FYI to others.

When I added wiring for my LED equipped Bushtec trailer on my 2012 Voyager the CC would not activate. Solution was to install a solid state isolation relay for the trailer lights and everything worked correctly. The CC modual "senses" the number of lights on the brake circuit, even if LEDs. If you add more brake lights you will experience this issue also.
