I have never changed the coolant in any car or truck I have owned.
I have never had a problem resulting from not changing the coolant in any car or truck I have owned. I don't see it making any difference if it is a car , truck, or motorcycle.

All these years spending money on antifreeze oil, transmission fluid, and brake shoes, that could have more wisely been spent on liquor and hookers.

The coolant that comes with the nomad isn't lifetime. It's green antifreeze that is probably good for two years/24K miles. This can be replaced with prestone's higher mileage green antifreeze replacement to give a little longer maintenance intervals. What you may not realize is that the corrosion inhibitors that are in the green antifreeze that comes with the Nomad has a definite lifespan that is rather short and while it may look green in the overflow tank, you won't see the corrosion is places where it counts: The radiator, water pump and coolant passages. When the coolant's corrosion inhibitors become useless and they will, corrosion will begin and it's a matter of time before you have an expansive repair. Cars made in the last 15-20 years use a coolant that has different corrosion inhibitors than the inorganic stuff in the green antifreeze. This allows for extended or indefinite maintenance intervals. May be this is why you never changed your antifreeze on your cars and still didn't have a problem. With the Nomad and other bikes that use the old style coolant, you shouldn't do that. Lastly, I know with some of the GM vehicles that use the newer organic inhibitors that the PH should be checked. I have heard of aluminum intake manifolds corroding through due to too acidic PH. YMMV.

Me neither Loafer. I'm trying to think of something sarcastic and mean as hell so it will be on a level he can understand.
Sometimes I wish those thoughts and hateful words came as natural to me as it dose for him and my wife. For now, I must be content with just being good. It is what it is.

I buy a new car and then drive it for 6-10 years. Mileage is not a factor, car reliability is. If a car starts to cost me extra in repairs or starts breaking down, I trade as soon as it is paid off. If it is not costing a lot to own I will keep it for as long as 10 years. Maintainance of the hoses and belts and changing the fluids does help to keep things going nicely.

Tim has somewhat of a point. Some cars don't require (according to owner's manual) coolant change for 60,000 miles or more. So why do bikes?
I did change my Nomad coolant at 18k and only have 24k so I am not ready to follow Tim off that cliff quite yet. I have seen many examples of cars getting the "pink milkshake"..when a tranny fluid line runs through the radiator and the radiator is so corroded that the tranny line bust open mixing coolant in the tranny and tranny fluid into the radiator. Costing thousands. I have a 4Runner with that design but I had a radiator shop bypass the radiator and just install an old fashion tranny cooler....a little preventitive measure.
