Breaking 99 Nomad
There is a nice 99 being broken in Ohio. All in good condition except the engine. The POG went out, so she bought another engine. But it's an FI model, and her mechanic wont do the changes required to fit it.

It's really cheap by UK prices. And in much better condition than mine. If it was cost effective, i would ship it over here, and plonk my engine in it. But the transportation, and import taxes, just rip the arse out of it mate.

I shipped several bikes from Ontario to the U.K in the 90's.
The cost of shipping (either by air or sea) was expensive and then there were import duty and VAT (sales tax) added on in the UK. The biggest rip off by brokers over there were so called "storage charges" while they were supposedly waiting for bikes to clear customs. I don't believe there was a wait and I was ripped off. I was charged almost as much for storage charges as it cost to ship them from Ontario to the U.K. Once they have your bikes in their possession they have you by the short and curly's and if you don't pay their ridiculous fees you are pooched. |

That'll be right too. I am waiting for a wiring loom and ecu from Australia. The bloke done me right at $100 including shipping. His driveway is 3hrs long, but he still got it to the post box the day that i paid him. It took just 24hrs to arrive in England, but has been stuck in customs for a week. And i expect to pay as much again in tax. Free trade agreements my arse.

I just got notice that the parcel will be here Monday. They have kindly added $50 tax + $30 customs handling charges. $30! just to scan a small bag ffs.

That's is why I rarely buy anything that has to come across the border by mail. I never know the actual cost of the item until it arrives at my door.

I bought a load of clothes from Sheplers USA. When they arrived at my door, i had to pay about $450 in duties. Almost doubled the cost. But Wrangler jeans at $19 a pair, nice jackets at $30, and harness boots at $60, was hard to resist.
Wranglers over here are about $100.
