Gentlemen Gentlemen Gentlemen.

There is a lot about how this site is ran that I don't understand but we've all had it beat into our heads, "this is NOT a democracy" so we need to get over it.

I'm actually surprised nobody saw this coming? Really? I can't be that clairvoyant? A while back I threw my concerns about how changing our name and who runs the site and donation drives and premium annual fees? I express those thoughts because I saw the change coming.

This site is now a Business Forum plain and simple. Get your mind off the fact that it's still a site where old friends belly up to the bar and talk about anything anymore. It's regulated, socialized, packaged as a business with ads and ran as one. The only power you have is that your granted the privilege to post. Period.

Well said Brad, but can we still do the wise cracks?

If that is the case, then I have a bunch of things for sale now.

By then my rating will not matter!

You sir, are paranoid. Plain & simple. Take the tinfoil hat off for just a few..

Do you even believe the crap you're spewing?

Do you even know how much it costs to run a forum this size? Do you even know how little is made from the 'ads'? Do you even know how much time and effort is required to maintain this place?

I let everyone have their say, and you had your's. Now, back it up.

I'm waiting.. back up your claims. Support them with evidence.

How did this forum change at all from the original format? You're telling me it has changed so drastically simply by the addition of a donation program (which is totally up to the member if they want to help out the forum)? Really? Hasn't that always been around anyway?

So again, let's hear some facts to back up your claims.

I'm waiting..

I except Trip turning over the site to a non member that we didn't know. I ain't got the foggiest clue why he did but it is what it is.

From that point on, running this site sure wasn't going to be gratis. It's not.

The site started raising "capital" with Premium membership and more ads. Yea, other sites do it but we didn't. We threw some money into the Kitty when Trip asked us too "for the cause". We also sold a few items like patches and cups and shirts. Trip informed us that he made no money whatsoever and was lucky to break even.

Settle my "paranoia" Mike.

Is this site getting paid for the advertisements?

Is this new forum a non-profit organization and registered as such? Exempt from taxes? Or does is operate in the black? Is this forum linked with other sites that benefit you monetarily in any way? Do you plan to have a "pay pal" account associated with this site or link to it in the future? Amazon Link? The rating the transaction I know raised more than just my red flag.

Are you doing this for Trip solely on the merit of loving to ride Baggers and giving him a hand and not making a profit and doing the web design and work on your own time free of charge?

All the staff handle the regional rides, organize rides make hotel reservations for the group, raise money with raffles etc. etc. Are they doing this for free for the love and camaraderie?

How many rides and regional rallies or National rallies have you done free of charge with all the work the staff partakes in? Organizing the day's rides. Getting releases signed and disclaimers collected?

Any motorcycle advice given to the members? Free of charge?

Take your time and answer each question.

Whoa, you really are out there. Kinda makes me feel a little better though, since it's obviously a case of ignorance. Now, I'm not calling you ignorant, you just really have no clue as to what's going on here.

Let me try to do my best, but I'm running on limited time... My replies will be in bold..

From that point on, running this site sure wasn't going to be gratis. It's not.

The site started raising "capital" with Premium membership and more ads.

The forum does NOT have any more "CPC" (Google) ads now than it did before. It has always had one at the top, one at the bottom. Always. On the index page and the forumdisplay we moved the bottom ad from the bottom, to the right-side. Wow. Still the same number of ads as always though. Oh, and yea we have a couple of 'sponsors' that are displayed in the top-right of the forum, but they're pretty much just to offer deals to the members here.

Yea, other sites do it but we didn't. We threw some money into the Kitty when Trip asked us too "for the cause". We also sold a few items like patches and cups and shirts. Trip informed us that he made no money whatsoever and was lucky to break even.

I can't comment on anything wth the 'web' portion of the site. Trip takes care of that, I take care of forum matters only.

Settle my "paranoia" Mike.

Is this site getting paid for the advertisements?

Of course! Why else have them? Now, it definitely isn't much, but it helps with the costs of running the forum and any and all other expenses.

Wow, where to start? Not registered as a non profit, not exempt from taxes. It definitely isn't losing money, but it isn't making a lot either. If you factor in all the time involved, then yea it probably is losing money. lmao No PayPal account, just my personal one. Not sure what you mean by 'Amazon link', but no, why would I?
As far as the fedback rating system, that should be the furthest thing from your mind. I don't know how that throws up a red flag about anything. It's a FREE Vbulletin modification that took all of 5 minutes to install. Why did I install it? Because I thought it would help out the members here. You think I make money from that or something? How in the world would I? I couldn't care less about the damn thing, it doesn't benefit me at all. I don't, and haven't, sold a damn thing on here, ever. lmao
And no, the only site this is linked with is VulcanBagger.org.

Are you doing this for Trip solely on the merit of loving to ride Baggers and giving him a hand and not making a profit and doing the web design and work on your own time free of charge?

I do this cause I love it. I absolutely love web design, and love forums. It's what I do. Do I have enough money leftover at the end of the month to go out with the family for dinner a couple times, sure. Am I rich from this? lmao Right.

All the staff handle the regional rides, organize rides make hotel reservations for the group, raise money with raffles etc. etc. Are they doing this for free for the love and camaraderie?

Probably, you'd have to ask them. My job is to keep everything running smoothly here on the forum, so everyone has a centralized place for discussions. I'm not involved in that in any way.

How many rides and regional rallies or National rallies have you done free of charge

Any motorcycle advice given to the members? Free of charge?

All the info here is free, even for non-members. That's the purpose of a forum.

Take your time and answer each question.

Anything else?
