I have that same tire and hear no unusual sounds at anytime. I can clutch In going to a neutral like effect and coast slowing and don't hear any whine.

I would check the rear gear box for gear oil and then try to lift the bike and listen to the bevel gear case at the head of the drive shaft.

Probably you would need a helper to run up the gears under power and apply the brake a bit to create some load on the gears, while you with great care to safety listen using a long 3/8" ratchet extension.

DO NOT stick any tools or anything into a moving tire as you listen! It will drive a tool like that right thru yer head! First place and secure the tool and then once it is and you are sure, then you can place an ear to it.

Well, the stock tire makes noise and by putting the car tire on, you are probably tripling the amount of contact the rear tire is making with the pavement. I haven't switched to a car tire yet, but first make sure it isn't something mechanical, and if it isn't then t may be "normal" when running a car tire on a motorcycle.

Like Mac, I have the same tire and do not have excessive tire noise.

Does this happen on all road surfaces? In New Hampshire the road surface can be different in place to place in drastic ways sometimes. When I headed west in the west I ran across red colored roads that made nosies and felt kinda greasey. I was in Wyoming to see that, and near dolamite mines (air stunk bad!)

Whines in general are air being squeezed out between gears, sometimes with out enough oil.

Did you use a torque wrench to tighten the axel?

Does this happen if you are slowing the way Ol' Dear gannie might like? Or are you slowing down to avoid a demon? ( I am wondering if you are sloing so rapidly that the slipper clutch is engaged)
