My .02 worth. Remove the language checker in the lighter side forum (only), if that can be done. If not, I'm sure when everyone see the word pu**y with the asterisk replacing the (ss) or any other derogatory word, they get the meaning. Probably everyone that feels offended by such language doesn't visit the lighter side forum anyway. Well, They may peep in occasionally just to get a rush......

I draw the line on insulting someone based on things they cannot change about themselves, like race, ethnicity, etc. There are times that people can joke about certain things as such and it's ok, but I have seen it go down a road that isn't good. For instance, I used to moderate a list and someone made a comment on haggling that referenced a certain religion. Someone else was offended because they belonged to that religion. It denigrated from there to the point where I closed the list down. I agree about sticks and stones, but there some limits, and most semi-civilized people know what they are. Myself sometimes not included. :)

No, I understand your concern and I respect your opinion. I guess I'm just thinking that if the porn really bothered me, I'd have to avoid the entire site. It doesn't (too much) though, and so I don't have to make that decision.

Actually, this is not about F***ing spell checking but rather about masking certain off-color words. When I setup the KawaNOW forum, one of the features was a Sh**y replacement or mask feature for any words I F***ing chose. It came setup with a Sh*t load of words already and I added a few. For instance, whenever someone tries to type the P word which describes the private area of a woman, it blocks out the word and puts asterisks. There is a list of words I have setup.

I have complete F***ing control as to whether to check a certain number of Sh**ty words, or no words at all. In the past, I've had users ask about it because they got D**n tired of certain words being checked.

I sorta see what you're saying, but if the porn bothered you all you do is avoid that section not the whole site. That's my point. Some will leave the site or not join based on it being allowed throughout the whole forum verses certain sections.

Why not just keep the bad stuff in the playground?! Everyone knows that it is there and they can choose to go there or not. This forum has too much information that people need to even be worried about bad language and other things. Just my opinion. but there is no need for anything bad in the other boards just leave it in the playground. Let people choose to read and see the bad stuff by having to go to the playground to look for it. That way it is their choice if they want to see it or read it. Waahaahaa!!!!
