100,000 miles
I received this email tonight from my friend.
He is a retired NYC Motorcycle cop. He is in his 70's and rides on a daily basis. At approximately 1500 hours, July 21, 2014, a milestone was reached at the intersection of Sunnyside Blvd & route 495 in Plainview, NY. I and my trusty steed, a 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1700 cc, that was bought new in May 2009, crossed the 100 thousand mark on the vehicles odometer. The reading at the time of this writing is now 100,009. How many other motorcycles, regardless of manufacturer can boast of that accomplishment? Just a little tidbit for your information. Hopefully I will be able to add on a few more miles in the upcoming days, weeks, months & years, who knows? Lenny Lenny Login or Register to Remove Ads

That's the second high mileage 1700 bike. We have a forum user that is way past that on his Voyager.

Wow..100k....I just bought that same model with about 14k miles on it earlier this month, so that's good news for me to hear that the bike can really go the distance.

Good for him. I used to spend some summers in Plainview at my uncle's house. I hope I'm riding a trusty Nomad at his age.

That fella sure does a lot of riding, good for him. I hope I'll be able to still ride at that age.

I met him while buying my Nomad. He put 18000 miles on it in his first year and traded his other Nomad in at 150, 000 miles. He is a badass.

That is awesome that he is out there and really tearing the roads up.
Best wishes to him for a safe and healthy future.

That's GV550. He rides a 2009 Voyager. I think he's up around 250K miles now.
