Starter Torque Limiter

Wednesday my 2004 Nomad L5 start making noises like the starter clutch was slipping and noise when you shut it off. Pulled it apart Thursday night and found 2 teeth missing from the torque limiter with 2 good teeth in between, but everything else looked OK. I know starter issues are rare, but has anyone else seen this or have any idea ?

Thanks. Shane

First time I'd ever heard of it.

Never heard of this problem before. If possible could you post a few pics?
Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Did you check the gear that the limiter gear engages to make sure it doesn't have any damage? (You probably did but thought I would ask.)

Starter Torque Limiter

I had a second option on the starter motor today since that is what the "ring-gear" on the outside of the torque limiter meshes with and we determined that I also need to replace the starter because of the wear/damage on the mating teeth. I will tried to attach a picture but I couldn't.
Thanks. Shane
