Son at OPSU

As some of you may remember, my #2 son is on a partial scholarship to Oklahoma Panhandle State, a DII school. Talked to him last night on the phone and he said things are going pretty good. He is currently working at center and left tackle, down on the depth chart at both but working hard. He thinks he may be redshirted this year, which he is actually hoping for. He feels it will give him a much better chance to play next year because he will be bigger, quicker and stronger. It will also give him a chance to learn the offensive system and to concentrate on his academics.

His only complaint so far is that his roommate is 400 lbs, has the A/C down as cold as it will go, sleeps with 3 fans and snores! He is now using his winter blanket and extra afghan that Tammy gave him so he can stay warm at night.

Ah yes...the roommate deal!
My #2 son had some frustration with roommates when he was in college. Not bad people, just different and incompatible lifestyles. Since he buckled down and completed a 5 year degree in 3.5 years, (he actually took 25 credit hours one semester) the last year and a half we ponied up the extra dough for a private room in the dorm. Totally worth it!

He is rehabbing a low back strain this week. Got twisted up with a DL in drills and pulled something. He should be back at practice by Monday. Said things are going well so far.
