You just can't beat the comfort and versatility of a good 100% cotton or a 60/40 blend t-shirt. For my money, black is the preferred color. Silk is for women and mama's boys.

Can't vote. NH has too much different weatha's for any one material. I use cotton, wool and silk. Any of these may be right on my skin, but it all depends on the weatha'.

I have a wind shirt made of a rip stop nylon, and another water proof shirt with a neoprean collar and cuffs for rain, made for sailing/kayaking.

In the hot muggies i do cotton to be cooler, as the chill comes on I change to silk, next wool, then silk and wool, last wool and wool. Then it gets to be wool and goose down. After that i quit. I might get the lombard tread and ft ski set this winter though
