Swing arm grease seals?

Getting ready to do the swing arm maintenance while I change the tire and have seen a couple references to the "Swing Arm Pivot Bolt Grease Seals". I can't find the part number for these on any of the microfiche sites. Anybody have any info on these.
07' 1600.

That's because you weren't looking in the right place.

You need to look on the page titled "Frame fittings", the part number is 92049-1181.

And check that there is no sideplay when you install the seals. If you still have some play take it up with a couple shims.

Swing arm grease seals?

Order no less than 4, just to have 2 on hand. I think only Bike Bandit carries them as after market, but they would still be OEM seals. In 07 I ran a cross referance check on them and found exactly 0. These seals are made for kawii by design and are not in the industry standard. Or no one else uses them.

I fiorget the name of the place I went to do this, but they are international, and the only place at that time who had any was Ma Kawii.

Bike Bandit had the seals, just ordered 4 along with a set of Kenda Kruz K673 tires.

Swing arm grease seals?

Bike Bandit backed out on the shipping to Hawaii so I ordered the seals from the dealer here on Maui, $6.08 each and no shipping charges. Will be here in 10 days!

Swing arm grease seals?

Is the slack or slop measured after the swing arm bolt is torqued or before? Is this a 1600 problem only? Once the swing arm bolts are torqued on my 1500s there is no movement that I can decern.

Swing arm grease seals?

Both the 1500 and 1600 suiffer this since the swing arm is basicly the same thing and basicly takes the same parts. The measurements are taken with the long bolt and axel at full torque. And can be taken eaiser with the shocks off and the rear axel out.

I very much doubt there is no decernable amount of play even with new seals. You just haven't pushed hard enough and are not familar with the idea yet.

If you want another method rag up a heavy screw drive the biggest stand blade one you have. That will move it. Wedge the screw driver in at the long bolt, between the frame and the swing arm. Wedge the swing arm to the left side of the bike, By hand pull it back at you.

You do that enough and pretty soon you will see the edge of that right side spacer. You may need to clean out any grease there first to see the spacer.
