Exclamation Mark SouthCentral 2016 Rally Info

Since 2010 all the regional rallies and a National Rally have been in Arkansas.
So we decided to try somewhere else in 2016.
I spoke with David (Framer) and with Jim and Liz at the National Rally in Eureka Springs about finding someplace in Missouri.
Jim and Liz were willing to do some looking around for us.

After some checking it was decided that Salem, MO. would be a good choice.
Some may remember a spring rally in Salem several years ago.

So here's the details........

When....
June 15-16-17 2016
Where.... Salem, MO.
Lodging....
The Ranch Motel
1420 Scenic Rivers Blvd.
Salem, MO. 65560
Phone: 573-729-3157
email: ranch.motel@yahoo.com

Plan on arriving Tuesday the 14th and checkout on Saturday the 18th.
They are holding 20 rooms for us until May 31st. Be sure to tell them you are with the VBA when making reservations.
Rooms rates vary, for more information on available rooms and rates click here.
They have a swimming pool and a nice shaded area with tables and grills.
Rooms with a single queen bed are on the "other" side of the main building, not facing the pool and picnic area.
All other rooms including the cabins face the pool area.
Seven rooms on both sides of the main building are upstairs and seven are downstairs.

There are plenty of restaurants close by a liquor store is within walking distance.
If you forgot something Walmart is only a few block away.

More info on the rides will be posted later, but the roads around Salem will be fun to ride.
MO. 19 was the first state highway to be designated as scenic in Missouri.

Hwy 32 is a great road with lots of hills and plenty of curves.
Many of the roads run thru the Mark Twain National Forest.
Other roads in the area include MO. 21, 49 and 72.

There are also several state parks in the area.
We'll visit Big Spring Park, it's one of the largest freshwater springs in the U.S.
Both Johnson's Shut-In State Park and Elephant Rocks State Park are also nearby and we'll stop to have a look.
We can stop at Fort Davidson Historic Site and check out the Civil War Battlefield.
For lunch we can go across the street to the Fort Davidson Restaurant

Hope to see you there.
