Vancouver, WA is as far north as I've been in the PNW.

Scott if you have the time, jump on Kris's band wagon and make the trip he's talk'in bout. Really is something to see. I've seen it so many times and still don't take it for granted, that's for sure. Absolutely breath taking. I'm hoping to make part of the trip.

Chili,
Did you do a recon mission when you passed the Curly Redwood Lodge in Crescent City....???? That as you know is our base hotel for the "Rally in the Redwoods" this August and the Avenue of the Giants is one of our planned group rides.... :) !

To be honest I hadn't checked the details for the Redwooods ride since I knew I couldn't make it.

Char took some video on CA-1. This is about the straightest section we saw the last few miles before it opens up at the ocean. The first 20 miles is 15 mph switchback after switchback.

you can find the video here http://vimeo.com/25493109

Thanks for keeping us abreast on the trip Doug. The thing about the coast is you just never know what you're going to get weather wise. Especially these days.
It sounded like you found the recommended limit to your lean on the Nomad, in the video. ;) I could hear Char tell you to "stop it". It brought back memories of when my wife, Judy rode with me.
Keep having fun and ride safe.

It always startles Char when the floorboard drags. Better that than the pipes, I've scraped up the bottom of both pipes this trip on G-Outs in turns.

Just wait until you get deep into Yosemite Valley! It won't hit you until you come around a corner and suddenly see the valley out in front of you. It will really stun you once you get down into the valley floor along the Merced River. I am anxious for that part of the blog.... ;) !

Speaking of Yosemite, will we need several hours there to sight see? Or is it a pass through at speed type of thing? A lot of the stuff I checked online talks about hiking. Just trying to plan our stops the day of and the day after. From South San Fran to Lee Vining is close to our daily limit of 300 miles although it may be a faster 300 than recent days because a bunch of it does appear to be freeway. I just don't want to feel rushed through if there is hours of sights to take in so we were considering adding a 3rd day between here and vegas.

I wonder if Yosemite has trails that can be ridden with an enduro?
