Finally Ready for the Season

I finally have the paint issue resolved and miscellaneous parts installed to tweak this bike into something I will enjoy more.

The paint issue was solved by buying a new saddlebag cover. The cover comes prepainted and the decal already applied (saved a $100 there). You have to transfer the handle and lock over and this was a little tricky getting off. You also need to order the reflector. I had the front fender painted black which was suggested on this forum. I think it looks good.

I bought the small clearview windshield (the shortest) and after 1 min into a test ride realized it was too tall for my short ass. I don't understand this as I saw reviews from people shorter than me that were happy with this height. I covered it in masking tape and cut 1.5 inches off. I had to peel the black vinyl off and painted the bottom part black.

Added risers from Scootworks and this brings the handlebars closer to me which will help as the Corbin seat sits you back about 2".

I also did Ivan's reflash which has performed as well as everyone says.

Now only need a sunny and warmer day to give it a good run.

That is one fine looking ride you have there . Glad all issues are resolved . If I can ever find it in my heart to let go of my nomad that's exactly what I would want .

Great job !!!!

You don't have to get rid of your Nomad to get another bike..... you just have to tell your wife your going to. Maybe I've said to much?

Thanks. Its nice to look at for sure, which is the payback for all the work we put into these things, but as far as getting out on the road I used to have this old Suzuki 800 that on a nice summer day on a back country road gave (almost) just as much pleasure riding. I can't wait to get out.

Nope , wife has mentioned once or twice that she's surprised I haven't done it already . This good old nomad has been a reliable beast and I'm not quite done with it yet .
