Installing new hand grips

Just wondering how difficult it is to remove the handgrip on the throttle side to reuse the throttle spinner do-dad .

I watched some other video's of guys putting on different grips. There is one thing this guy didn't do that I would recommend from watching the other ones. On using the glue. Put glue on the "front" part of the tubes that are on the handle bars and for the back half of the grips pour the glue into the back half of the grip itself making sure you get some all around. Doesn't have to be allot just enough to make sure they stick. That way it is easier to get the grip in the right spot before the glue sticks too bad.

All great information here , I'll keep this post handy when I finally have all my stuff in . Just ordered bars and now grips . I do have a friend who does all of his own work. I'm sure a case of beer would convince him to come over .

I had a set similar to these on my first bike and didn't find them to get hot at all . A friend of mine has solid chrome ones ( no rubber ) and he loves them but he says his hands slip when it raining . How dangerous is that !!

I had those grips on a bike and didn't care for them at all. Hot in the sun and overly chodey(yes I went there). And plus 1 on the gluing method a couple of post up. Use super glue gel and it'll take a little longer to set.

Thanks baggerbob , I always appreciate feedback from people who have used something I'm interested in . Do you have any recommendations ? I'm really not a fan of these .

I have had those grips on my last 2 bikes Ridefree, functionally they are great, aesthetically only you can decide. I've never felt them get too hot, and they provide a solid grip with less vibration. just make sure they are the real version there are copies and the chrome flakes off in a week.

You live in Canada. I would be looking at Avon heated grips.

You buy those and you will probably be disappointed. There's a reason they are $28. A good quality set of grips should start about $50-60 and go up from there. These are imported knock-offs with cheap thin chrome plating. The rubber will disintegrate and the chrome will rust or rub off.

For quality grips that will last a long time, check out Avon grips.

Your 100% right CJ , I will . Sometimes it pays to just splurge on something you need . I want these to last for awhile . Thanks for the advice !!!

Thanks for the input guys .I've decided I'm going to break the bank and buy some good ones instead of knock offs . After all this is my baby and I want to treat her right . I hope my wife doesn't see this !!
