Man down

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share with my fellow kawanow'ers, on Thursday I went down.
Not too sure the detials, in the hospital for over 48 hs and air lifted to hospital.

I remember being in a high speed wobble - my riding mates say we were passing a slow car on the highway - I wasn't going more then the speedlimit on the pass.

all I can recall is trying to control the wobble and trying a last ditch effort to use the rear brake to straighten the bike out....

anyways.... I dotn' think I like the wobble....

EDIT -
I'm posting the photos I just took of the bike, a week and a half after the incident. It will help bring any new readers up to speed....

from the rear - not bad

from the front - notice the crash guards, and the aux lights.
damn - I just got the new chuckster lights mounted and now this.....

detail on the grinding down of the guards. you can picture it sliding on its' side down the highway

detail on the damage to chuck's lights.....

the skid lid did it's job..... not even a scratch on my face. Skid lids is the name of the company - I am an unofficial advocate of them now.....

I'm not liken' this wobble stuff that seems to be getting more frequent around here.
I think you mechanical types should investigate this and see how ewe can avoid it.

Dang soory to hear about this...hope you heal fast.

I'm with TC, what's up with all these high speed wobble accidents lately. Is it just ridin season and more bikes out or is there a real issue with the Nomads. I've never heard of this before I bought the Nomad.

I had developed a slight high speed wobble when my stock front Bridgestone had worn out. At cruising speeds on interstate highways, the concrete panel seams were enough to get it to start wobbling slightly. Replacing the front tire with the Avon Cobra solved that issue completely. Hope you heal up quickly Brian.

There's another echo in here.

Brian, sorry to hear about your tumble, I hope your doing OK, and that your healing.

One thing I've noticed. is that this high speed wobble seems to be on the 1500s, (talking about the wobble that makes you dump the bike) haven't got a clue to it's cause, but hope someone gets it figured out before someone gets hurt too bad to heal, if you know what I mean. :'(

Rest up and Heal Quickly. Maybe we can all figure this out. I have been reading WIKI "speed wobble" and it does seem interesting. Keep Us Posted =r=
