because they aren't kissing the front end of a tractor trailer rig coming in the opposite direction I'm guessing is why they walk away!!!

Yup an 18 wheeler grill would make a lasting impression and that is my point BD, it's what you hit before you stop tumbling that is going to get you. We don't know all the details, but Steve did say he was on the highway, lucky he did not get hit by a car after he went down.

Believe me, I felt really fortunate that there was no oncoming traffic when I went down and slid/rolled into the oncoming lanes. The pickup truck driver in front of me turned and blocked oncoming traffic. I don't know if that was intentional, or if he was simply trying to avoid my bike that was sliding toward him, but he probably saved my life.

I have to think there is somebody looking after you 3 guys, OK 4 guys with Ricky. Sounds like you were super fortunate also CJ.
I once dropped a bike going a round a traffic circle after hitting a patch of ice. I slid with the bike across 2 lanes of traffic and up onto a grassy bank. I was fine and so was the bike, but all I could think of as this happened was, I hope I don't get hit. Not one S.O.B stopped to help, so I got myself out from under the bike, picked it up and drove home.

Of course Stan was kidding. That's what the emoticon was for. I learned the hard way a long time ago that when you write something to be silly it can be taken in a totally different context.

As far as ATTGATT goes, I have religiously followed it since I started to ride again. Last week I took a quick trip around the block to check a couple things. As I was backing out of the driveway something just wasn't right. As I started to ride down the street I realized I forgot my gloves. I couldn't go on. A quick U turn put me back in the driveway and getting my gloves. Habits, good or bad, once they are set they are hard to break.

Be safe.

I will freely admit I'm not 100% on board with that. Too freaking hot here. Yes, I am aware if I'd had a jacket on I probably would have spared my arms from road rash.

Sorry to hear of your accident Steve. Hope you heal quickly and back in the saddle soon. Let us know if you find out what it was that caused the wobble.

Steve, I was shocked to read the PM & found out you had gone down!
But, that is Steve; he took the time to answer my question regarding the Nomad...
I'm sorry to hear about the accident.
Hope you get well soon.

Let's all be careful out their!
