Determining Left Side of Bike From Right Side

I have seen several threads and people will say is that the left side of the engine looking at it from the front or from the back. Or sitting on the bike it will be located on the left front.

Simple way to tell which side is which. Left turn signal is on the left side and the right turn signal is on the right side. That way anyone will always know which is the left and which is the right.

Not trying to be a smart a$$ but that is the way I have always determined left from right. It doesn't matter whether I sit on the bike, stand behind it or in front of it. The turn signals always tell us which is the left side and the right side.

Some guys are used to the way it is done on cars standing ahead of the car looking into the engine compartment. On a V-8 engine standing that way the right bank on your right side, would heve the left turn sig on your right.

That is the industry std for 4 wheeled vehicals.

So some guys speak of a problem in that sort of terms, which is why I say as seated.

I noticed some time ago that your sig pic was reversed but I figured I would keep quiet just in case you had a custom bike built that way!

what if you're down on the ground, laying perpendicular to the bike?

That is the fix from starbr'd and larbr'd or lee ward. lee ward changed on every tack too.

Which came from lee board, which was one board on the lee side, something that needed to be hauled to the lee side untill some bright guy came up with a board on both sides.

Both down in this shot. I was a little scard that day, making 17 knots, took over the sail boat that the pic came from. Beat them bad and was cinchin' down the last knot on the roof rack when the lady asked if i would like a picture.

I got 2 masts and 3 rudders in the bottom of that lake.
