Saddlebag Speakers

I thought I saw a Nomad on the forum that had been customized with speakers in the saddlebags. Has anyone tried this or seen anything like this done. My buddy, for some reason, wants to try this. I am trying to convince him not to but he is determined. Any thoughts?

Hope he plans to keep the bike for a while. since after he cuts holes in the bags he limits the number of perspective buyers.
Seems to me there would be a better way to mount speakers without ruining the bags.

You can buy saddlebag lids for Harleys that are molded for speaker mounting. No such thing exists for the Nomad bags. If your friend screws up, he just ruined a $1000 saddlebag. I hope he knows what he is doing.

Like Scott said, once it's done, there's no going back. Since the Harley bags are top loaders and the speaker is in the lid, if you happened to screw something up, at least you could buy another (relatively cheap) stock lid.

I call BS. If it's not BS, it's the best deal on any motorcycle parts I've ever seen. If I still had my Nomad, I'd buy them (assuming it's legit) even if I didn't need them.

There is a guy on the forum that did put speakers in his saddlebags, I believe on a Vaquero. Do a thread search, I believe it was named" anyone want to get serious about the tunes on your Vaquero" or something very close to that, it was posted within the last month. You may also find it by scrolling pages on the Vaquero forum. He also replaced the locking compartments in the faring with speakers.

There have been several who have done it. Kane, a stunt rider for kawi, has a tricked out Vaq with speakers on the top-front of the bags. I've seen several others run them in the back of the bags facing the wheel.
