I just installed a fairing on bike, with a radio. Where would be a could place for me to get power to the radio from. short of installing a new fuse box?

Gary, Have you already tied anything in to the spare accessory pair in the headlight bucket? I just used mine for my 12v power plug for the GPS.

It's worth mentioning that the 12v accessory plug in the headlight bucket is constant power. That would be fine if you want the ability to be able to turn the stereo on at any time, with or without the key. It would also give anyone else the ability to turn your stereo on and run the battery down. However, this connection would be a good source of constant power for the memory/clock on the stereo.

If you want a switched power source, you're going to want to use a relay triggered by the running light or taillight circuit that would switch power to the stereo by energizing the relay when the key is turned on. The relay would switch power from a direct battery connection.

You're right Scott.....I forgot about the headlight plug being constant power. It fit the bill for my accessory power.

If I had to do it again id mount a small fuse panel inside the fairing, Youll probably end up adding a few other accessories in the fairing anyways, and this way the power will already be there. It makes it a lot neater wiring job.
