Or VMC if you're a member. If not, it might be worth the $15 sign up fee if it sells your bike. Nice ride.

I wish I would have seen this before I bought my 2011 Vaquero recently. I had a 2013 XCT and liked it but did the sport touring thing for a while then came back to baggers. I didn't want to spend more than $10K but would have made an exception for this bike.

I sold it about 3 weeks ago. I was thinking about the sport tour route.

I went from a Voyager to a FJR. I could never get comfortable on the FJR and sold it after 2,000 kms.

Give a look at the triumph trophy SE. Better than BMW at a fraction of the cost

Better, no. BMW updated the RT in 2014. It's somewhat better than the previous iteration of the RT in terms of power, but not much else. The first trophy's had a lot of teething problems. That said, the new RT has a lot of stuff that no other manufacturer offers and the RT is a lighter bike regardless if it's a hexhead, camhead or wethead. Is the trophy a better value? Probably. Especially those that don't mind not having all the bells and whistles. It's ultimately up to the rider. A new RT lists for 22-23K and a Trophy is 19.5K. I'd test ride both if I was looking for a new bike.
