Rickyboy says Hi from Texas

Hi to all my KawaNOW bros. and sisters,... from beautiful downtown Austin TX.
Arrived here today at 6:00 PM Austin time. Got to the house and dropped the bags and headed to Congress Dr., which is close by, and took in some of the South by Southwest music festival. Tons of live music and food to eat. It was a long day getting here so after 4 hours we headed back to plan for tomorrow. The SXSW festival is on for one more day. Tomorrow should be a full day with Music, sight seeing, and most of all
eating. Two days here and then it's rent a car and we're off to San Antonio for 5 days then to Corpus Christie for 6 days. What a great break from the cold and wet weather of Vancouver.

For a moment there I thought you were getting an early start on riding to the National Rick. Enjoy.

Welcome and HOWDY ;) from a native. If it's your first time, even though you are in the cage, do yourself a favor and leave San Antonio and run through Blanco, see Liz's on the Square while you're there, then run over to Fredericksburg, from there, take 16 through Kerrville to 337, run 337 to Leakey, and up 336 back to 41, back to San Antone or any where in there that wanderlust takes you. Look at a map and if you can work in 39 out of Kerrville in that trip, do it. Probably not as beautiful as some places in Canada, but it will wet your apetite to bring the bike to Texas. Ya'll have fun, y' hear? Oh, and wear your sunscreen .

Thanks for the best wishes and the tips.
Day two
I'm frick'in exhausted. Went through the Capitol building, Bob Bullock museum. walked the down town core....4th & 6th Ave. Pretty much a zoo with people with serious issues. Good food everywhere. Looked for some good barbecue but figure we'll find some in San Antonio.
It was suppose to rain but the weather held and was just bloody humid.
One more day here in Austin and then it'll be off to San Antonio.
Ya'll take care now,..... hear?

ya ya ya ya !!!! Kris. .....whatever Eh!! ;)

Another busy day. Went to the Capitol building again to see the IMAX theater show on Texas, then the LBJ museum and library. I was pretty surprised at just what he accomplished while in office.
Lot's of walk'in therapy for the knee. ;)
Rented a car for our trip to San Antonio and Corpus Christie starting tomorrow. Found a great BBQ place called Rudy's,.......
Finally found a liqour store. Got in there before their cash registers closed down automatically at 9:00 PM. Funny place, you can carry a gun all day long in public but you can't by whiskey after 9:00. Maybe because there are guys carrying all day long ;). Go figure.
