Private messages

I had some private messages stored in the old Kawanow forum.

How do I get them over here to my inbox???

Thanks,

Bob

you can't directly.

If I had some that I wanted...I would go to the old forum, copy them to a .doc file..

If I just wanted them on the forum, I would open a private message to myself and paste them there then send to myself.

If I read the PM instructions correctly you can only have 50 total PMs. Guess the older ones would get deleted as newer ones come in.

I beleive there is an option to 'backup' your PMs on the old forum.

I did the back up at 1 pm today they say they will send you a PM to download the zip file.
As of 6 pm no PM with zip file yet.

Hopefully it will get here later on.

ADMIN>>> I would like to send a PM to a member that hasn't posted on the new site. I haven't been successful, if there is a way to do this, please advise. Thanks Gerry

Unless the person in question logs in to the new site and activates their account, there's no way to PM them. It's like trying to send mail to someone without an address. Go back on the old site and see if you can find an email address for the person and email him.

Click on Quick Links at the top of the page.
Select Private Messages
Then use the drop down menu to select Sent Items.
They are NOT saved by default
If you want to save sent PM's by default.
Then from Your Control Panel select Edit Options.
In the PM section check the last box, save a copy of sent messages.
If this box is not checked, you will have the option, before you hit send
to save the PM. If you don't hit save, it's gone.
