Not stupid, just uninformed. Order the ring that works with the Sunpie and then you can cut and weld or Screw with washers the mounting of the light. Some Vids on Utube weld and IMHO the vid by Greg Millsape (the one with the orange Vaquero) is the one using screws and washers, that is the best for me. But wait a day or so and Smokier (posts about 6am) will Hopefully give you his actual experience on the mod. I HAVE NOT DONE IT

I’ve come to the conclusion( after scouring YouTube and google), that I need an adapter ring. The one attached to the Daymaker is too small to bolt onto.I payed for the extra ( silver) ring, but it didn’t arrive with the package.

Grin Dang, am I that predicable?

Greetings Vet,

Here is a link to the thread regarding the Superbright LED 7" replacement bulb mod I did.

http://www.vulcanbagger.com/forums/s...ht=Superbright

I used a Xprite 7” Black mounting ring for round headlight.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As MBArr indicated, what Greg did was use screws and washers to create a clamp of sorts. The challenge with that, is adjusting the headlight involves disassembly. With the XPrite ring, adjustments can be made after mounting. However, the Xprite is a little larger than the bulb. So used neoprene adhesive weather stripping to fill the small void. The bulb is solid now and there are now rattles.

If you want pictures, they can be provided.

Ride safe and good luck with your project!
Smokier

Daymaker Head acher

The “ clamping” method is a big no no .There is not enough security and / or mounting points.Ive tried it , and I’ve decided to get the two rings tack welded. It will be more solid and give me piece of mind .
