1600 NOMAD TAIL LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT

Group ride today and someone noticed my taillight was out, brake light still good. Pulled bulb but not a standard number system on it. Looked at KAWASAKI and searched a couple different Forums and NO JOY. Can anyone tell me a replacement bulb I can get easily, like at WALMART.

1600 NOMAD TAIL LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT

I thought they took a standard dual filament 1157 or 2057 bulb.

It should be a 1157, that you can get any where....... There are modified bulbs you can get with the same watts in the run light, but brighter in BRAKE.

I think the number is 3157 LL, and they have that at wallmart too. The LL is long life.

Probably that bulb is a ' Stanley and these run no real visable number at all sometimes.

You are probably right Mac. I know on the tail light I think it says Stanley. Could be a Stanley bulb. I would think the 1157 should work in it.

1600 NOMAD TAIL LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT

Here we have LED bulbs available that have 9 diodes, and a 1156 & 1157 base that fits right into the existing socket. They come in clear, red, and amber. They are $9.99 for the red or amber, and $14.99 for the clear. I need seven of them on my bike, so as soon as they go on sale, I'll pick some up for myself.

Ring check out Princess auto, they had them pretty cheap a few weeks back. I'm not sure if it was a sale or not and I can;t remember the exact price, but it seems to me they were a lot cheaper than the prices you are mentioning.

I did try a LED tail light bulb, don't know what name but it wasn't that bright so I went with a 2157

If the bulb is good you should test the wiring for juice.

Norm those are the Princess Auto prices as of yesterday, thats why I'll wait for the sale price. I want to change them to LED's mainly for the power consumption savings, I now have 15 bulbs running on the tailight circuit, 7 1157's and 8 194's, since I added the new Tour Pak.

2157 might be the number. I was using my aldged brain and my memory isn't worth squat some days. I did buy my brighter BRAKE / run bulb at walley world though. It was a 2 pack.

I was reading the posts and yours about the Princess Auto and said...well that IS the ones he was talking about..LOL...

And yes they were just on sale. They had the red and amber on sale 2 flyers ago and one just before that was the clear. They are not that bright compared to standard 1157 incandecent in coloured ones, the clear are a bit brighter, but still not the best. I would say buy ONE try it first and then get the rest. I think you may be disappointed in the brightness of them.

Scott

Yes, I have heard that they are some what directional, so if your not looking directly on they are not as bright.
