2010 Rally Dates Revisited

It has been brought to my attention that maybe a midweek event would allow more people to travel to and from the 2010 Rally. I realize that it would eat into vacation time, but for some, they would have to take 3 days off during one week and at least 1 day off the week after a weekend event for travel.

We could plan rides 2 days of fun.

Just throwing this out there. I know from my perspective, traveling from FL will take a couple days to get to VA or one long day to get to Helen.

Again, we will let the majority decide.

2010 Rally Dates Revisited

Since I have plenty of time to plan this trip, I'll be able to get the time off work and spend a week for the rally.

Traveling long 12 hour days is not for me. If we go to Virginia I would like to take 2 or 3 days to get there. Spending some time sight seeing on the way up there makes the trip that much more enjoyable.

Even if we go to Helen, I think I may make it into a 2 day trip.

Right on Mike...
Flying down the interstate is no fun. I vote for the scenic route and make the ride to the destination as well as after getting to the destination. Rather spend an extra night on the road and take the backroads. ....Wife said you'd better get some disability insurance if you are going to ride again...Guess I'm going to get disability insurance. :)

Hey Joe, if getting some insurance is the only price to pay to continue to ride. . . .well, I can't tell you what to do but I know what I would do!

Joe,

Maybe we should start a new thread for this. Since Mama is going to let you continue riding and we owe you a few trips down toward your area. I was thinking, after you get your cast off and you guys get back from Custer and your wrist builds some strength, we should plan on a Naples get together around the end of July or beginning of Aug. for your first official ride on the bike.

I know for one I'm very happy to see you wanting to ride again and I think we should make a party out of it.

last daughter is getting married memorial day weekend next year [not that that matters...], so I'd be planning around that date. Since it's along way out, I know lots of plans will change.

Love the idea of the extended ride and the valley in Virginia makes for some fantastic riding.

Joe, it's nice to hear talk about riding again - I'm going to recommend an experienced rider course for our Florida group as a possible event. We would need at least 6 to sign up.

Leeanne and I have taken an ERC course and they are very good.

See the link below. CoachA, could we start a new thread to see if there is any interest for an August course?
