That dealer is Kahuna Cycle, they've been around for years, and are a multi line dealership.
At 35k for an Indian here its not a surprise that they don't sell.

The Daytona shop closed down and the one in Ocala may be following suit from what one of my buddies has heard. He's been waiting on a back rest for almost 8 months.

Guys are spending close to 40 large on Harley CVOs, and they can't keep them in stock. I don't think price is a huge deterrent to a lot of folks.

The most expensive bike starts at $25,600 and is only a few grand more than a comparably priced Victory and on par with the Harley offerings so I doubt price point is the issue.

If that storefront is an indication that they only sell Indian and MV Augusta then there is no wonder they aren't selling enough bikes to keep the doors open. As far as the earlier comment about someone waiting months for a backrest, that sounds on point and is most definitely a Polaris trait and what could ultimately be their downfall in this venture.

Why so much? It can't be the exchange rate.

40 large is too, too much to pay for a motorbike around here. Where the hell are all theses people working?

For Trossco, Wilson and Norm, that's a deal at twice the price, but not 'round here. They ain't going to be caught on one that cost less than 40.

I wonder where people get the money too. You wouldn't believe how many people buy $22-27,000 BMW bikes cash. I had a question of selling a bike with a lien and they were like, who does that? A lot of these folks have multiple bikes too. I am not part of the normal BMW demographic.

Since my name was brought into this, I have to state I have not ever spent $40k for a bike Mike...

But people do -- quite often.

Bike prices are not what amazes me so much, as the price of some cars I see. Just saw a Beemer yesterday that I know sells for just at $100k, when all is done and said. I also, surprisingly, see extremely expensive Italian cars quite often that run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some are so expensive and rare you have to send your mechanic to Italy for training. Ummm...

This, of course does not bring to mind other toys, such as airplanes/jets and boats/yachts. Try pricing them, and you'll soon find a whole different world out there... not to mention the cost of upkeep on them. Some of these toy's annual cost of upkeep would equal a great paycheck.

I know a guy that drives Vets and Ferrari's as his daily car, but never spends any money on any of them. There's a trick to this sometimes.

If people are buying expensive bikes (Harleys in this case) and have the money, it is what it is.
It just seems like to me, to purchase a bike with a tag of 40 large, ideally your income would have to be at least 8X's that and if you're in that income bracket your interest would be elsewhere.
Just seems like with th economy like it is the high dollar bike business would be slow.

I know there's exceptions to the rule. There are some High Rollers out there that ride the bikes in my market.

Then I know of the other exception where a guy bought a custom chopper from a Custom Manufacture here that cost him 45 LARGE about ten years ago. It was a sharp bike that you would ride to Bike Night and back home. It must have rode like a wagon, because he rode the hell out of it for a while, then as the new wore off, he eventually parked it.
