Winter Storage

Already that time to start thinking about winter storage, looking for advice. I am in Eastern Ontario Canada and yes it get cold. So I store my bike in a heated garage, up on blocks, battery plugged in to a battery tender and fuel stabilizer in the tank. She gets washed and waxed and covered, QUESTION is, is engine fogging (storage spray) a most?

I really hate that word, "Storage" . Yet that time to park it for awhile is coming.
Great controversial question on the fogging oil. Personally I do not fog, but maybe I should. Northern Minnesota is also cold. I do not have a heated garage, so I probably really should fog. Temperature fluxuations are the main cause of condensation along with humidity. So I believe.
I have not had any issues without fogging. Last bike saw 10 years of winter parking, with no noticeable loss of power or mechanical issues. I even Start it up every 3 weeks or so, just to hear it and what I believe to lube it. Yet it maybe doing more harm than good with the extra condensation created by heating up the air in the cylinders. I also roll it forward and back every 2 weeks or so to rotate the tires. Battery On trickle charger.

Either way I'm riding till the snow fly's, every year I can. Then park it till the ice melts off the roads and one good rain to wash the road.

Right now, we're 86 and sunny.

I store the bike for 6 months in Ontario and have never fogged the engine or added fuel stabilizer. I fill the tank with non ethanol and remove the battery. The bike goes in an unheated shed and does not get started until Spring. The battery goes in the basement and gets charged once a month.

Never had a problem starting the bike in the Spring.

I do everything you listed but do not fog. I ad stabalizer fill up and ride about 15 miles to get it thru the system good, then park and cover it.

Same here, in an unheated garage, don't start it 'till spring.........Mike

I park them in an unheated garage on a cement floor, put stabilizer in gas, put steel wool in the end of the exhaust to keep mice out and do NOT start them till spring.

It gets below zero here in the winter months. Never had a problem with them starting in the spring.

The shed I made for the bike is completely sealed and the door opening is screwed on with about 50 screws. No critters can get inside, not even a mouse.

Winter here in Southern AZ means some days I have to wear a long sleeved tee shirt.

I too keep the trickle charger on them. Start them up every couple of weeks and let them get to running temp. The only thing "special" is add seafoam to the last tank / fill up. That is the sad day...

taking the trip to the GAS STATION just so they can be parked with a full tank of gas...

Once my bike goes into storage its stays there until Spring. Its too much of a hassle to get the bike out for one decent day.

NEVER! too much hassle!

If I can get one day of riding in each of Dec, Jan and Feb I can say I rode all year round!
