Bulb Swap

2019 Voyager..

Want to take the turns/running over to LED. I am assuming the stk bulbs are 1156/1157 ???

Of those that have switched, what have you found that works the best??

I love the LEDS from SuperBright. Seems every vehicle I have has some LEDs from them.
Just ordered $50+ worth for the Vision.

To your question. Haven't swapped the bulbs on a VAQ. I replaced the front turns with LED markers in the LOUVERS. Where the DRIVING LIGHTS would go normally. I didn't have driving lights, so used that space for the LED markers as turn signals. Did of course have to add a pair of load resisters to control the hyper-flash.

None of that was probably any use to you, other that the load resister comment...

Ride safe,
Smokier

I replaced all my lights with LED (JW Speaker main & Chinese knock-off driving lights), and then later tried several different switchback LED bulbs behind clear lenses in the turn signals before I found a set that lasts for an acceptable time. In my experience, the ones with multiple small LED emitters last a lot longer than the type that have single large emitters behind a magnifying lens. I think I found mine on Ebay, before 2017 so they've dropped off my purchase history = no record of what they were.

I zip-tied load resistors near the turn-signal stalks.

Bulb swap expectations

IMG_20190329_210416348.jpgstandard Bulb swap LED in stock housing

IMG_20190401_202407609.jpg JW Speaker led headlamp installed using an adapter for Vaquero/ Voyagers.

I found the stock head lamp bulb swap to be to high at High beam to work when adjusted at a good level for the low beam, which is on most times.
I went later on with the whole can replacement for a LED housing replacement to get a more focused beam and High beam is now great and low beam is just under the tailgate of cars & SUVs at a stop. Now I am not the guy blinding them in the rear view mirrors. Giving us a bad name and I can see Great.

So many of these new LEDS are so BRIGHT, half the time it seems like they have their HIGH BEAMS on. And AUTO dimming headlights are nice, but the timing isn't there yet. We as drivers are getting lazy. Auto this, auto that, guess these are all steps to autonomous driving machines...
I'm a Hippocrite, my car has all that garbage. Radar assisted cruise, lane departure control, rain sensing wipers, auto dimming headlights. But I do spend a lot of time manually adjusting... Pretty soon my car is going to leave for work regardless if I am in it or not...

There, talking in circles and rant are over...

Ride safe (and enjoy the physical control of riding),
Smokier
