Finally The Vaq Tour Pack

After many trial and errors. I now have the quick release touring trunk that is comfortable for a passenger. My wife that is. We went for a two hour ride to check and adjust to get it just right and it's done. Happy wife , happy life!

This is the final assemble. The bottom portion of the back rest is from the passenger sissy bar. I removed the pad from the bracket. Pulled out the backing mounting plate that was inside the leather sheath and hammered it to fit the contour on the trunk. Also under the front off the trunk there is an half inch thick bar to give the trunk a little tilt to eliminate the pushing forward pressure.

This is the bracket the passenger backrest was on.

Here is a pic of the original set up when I first purchased the bike. Just had to drill a few holes to get the position right.

All I can say is patience was the biggest factor here. Now I can remove the trunk when just going for short skoots and the trunk for the long run.

Now it's off too Chaotic Customs for some paint. but I'll have to work some overtime first to pay for that.

Looks real good. Great job forming the original backrest bracket to fit the trunk.

Did you cut the bottom of the trunk to slide the backrest frame up into it before mounting the pad on the outside?
