Noisey engine

My 1999 1500 with 38000 on the clock, has recently started making a noise that sound's like a worn axle/gearbox when i reach 70+ mph, it seem's to be coming from the front of the engine but i cant be sure, anyone else had this problem, and what did it cost to fix it.

Yo Samits not the fan mate, new wheel bearing's were fitted about 4000m ago, but my brother was a bit neanderthal with the hammer,so that's worth a look, and no i still have'nt done the extender's, between going to show's, rallies and rideout's, ive been working on the trailer,so pretty busy enjoying myself really. Saturday i got a slow puncture,i put some puncturesafe in it to get me by, so this week i while i have the back wheel out i am going to make the template for the towing bracket that i have in mind, hopefully the bloke's at the fabrication yard can sneak it in the back door and make it for me in a couple of day's.

I would get the wheel off and ck the bearings. What sounds like a whine up ft is usually bad wheel bearings. The next thing is a worn out mc ft tire that whine in corners. With these LOW miles unless you ran the engine out of oil and or ran it with a dead pog there is no reason to even think engine.

I am going to take you're advice on that Mac i am taking the back wheel out any day to make up a template for my tow bar, so while it's in the air i will do that, and check the drive shaft & rear wheel bearing's while i am at it.

Also check the bevel gear for any slop while in the rear end. Could be the bearing.
