Tail/Stop/Turn Light for Hard Bags

I've been trying to put together a plan to put lights on my hard bags, (Tail/Stop/Turn) looking around I went to Gadgets site and saw one suggestion but when trying to click on it, it wont come up, also it looks expensive. Any suggestions on a set of lights and installation plan. I'm open in terms of size shape etc.
Thanks

Look through a JP Cycle catalog, they have a few lights available.
I think Topcat has some on his hardbags. You will have to connect them with trailer plugs so you can remove the bags easily. Its not a difficult mod to do at all.

Hmmm don't wanna mess up any deal TC, but this is what I did.
It is the cheapest way to get more light back there.
http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/...p/61-73190.htm

It does running lamp / brake.
No cutting up 1000 dollar saddle bags either, which in my book is a real big plus.

Have some led unit bug out and then whatta ya gonna do if you can't replace it.

With a little alloy in a strip, making 2 brackets is cake.

Hi Joe, I used mini tombstone lights from J&P Cycles.
They are part #3400666 with red lenses or # 3400665 with clear lenses. They are led lights not bulbs. They were $55 each when I bought them, don't know what they cost now.
I just drilled three holes in the appropriate place on the bags and hooked them up with the nuts supplied. Two holes on each bag for the attachment screws and one to run the wires through.
I originally tried an led strip light but LED's are directional and when against the bag which is slanted they were pointing up so the guys behind me didn't see them very well.
The tombstone lights worked best because they are angled to fit the bags better. If you go with the tombstone lights put them a little higher on the bag than mine are. Mine show up real well but would be even better if they were an inch higher. As they are people say they cannot believe how bright they are even in the daytime running mode. They have a clear piece on the top to show on the license plate so I just painted that black from the inside.
They come with three wires, one goes to ground, one goes to the brake light wire and the other goes to the tail light wire. You will also need two trailer wire connectors.I found which is which with a cheap icepick tester I got at Walmart.
I'm going to try to attach a couple pictures of the lights. The first is of the strip lights that didn't work very well and the second is of the tombstone lights I like much better.
Let me know if the pictures came through

I used a set of Night Riderz LED's from Custom Dynamics. They are easy to install and very bright. I think I paid $50 for the pair. They scroll back and forth as running lights and flash 5 times before holding steady for brakes.

I've had several compliments and questions about them since I put them on.

Jus' say TC. No way is less than my way, atleast i don't think so, and my way might not be the best, but it sure is cheap. The lamps are not visable parked and are seen only when the key in On and or the engine is ON. For the size the mini 1157 bulbs are pretty bright.

i wanted cheap and i wanted a triangle of light, more so since the tail lamp has no fail safe bulb. The 06 Nomad 05, i guess too is the first bike I ever knew of with no fail safe lamp. bean counters strike again.

That one bulb quits a function and yer a dead man.

Tail/Stop/Turn Light for Hard Bags

I mounted a brass bar infront of the saddle bag cross piece and to that, mounted some amber and red LED lights (Princess Auto) the Red are wired as Running Lights, Amber as Signal, these are clear lenes painted with TESTERS Translucent Black so it's not so noticable when not running.
One advantage to this system is that as LED light technology changes I can mount something different on the bar.
You could go with any combination you'd like. Above my plate is an LED strip that is wired as a Brake Light.
